GRCA Titles

GRCA TITLES

GRCA offers several forms of recognition for Golden Retrievers with exceptional accomplishments. Goldens meeting these requirements are recognized in the Golden Retriever News and GRCA Yearbook.

Outstanding Sire
To be awarded the Outstanding Sire designation, a sire must have Two Field Champion progeny (FC or AFC) - OR - One Field Champion progeny (FC or AFC) and a second progeny who is a CH or UD or AX or AXJ - OR - A minimum of five qualifying progeny who have earned a total of at least 24 title points as follows:

A minimum of three progeny with a 4 point or higher title. Additional 3, 2, and 1 point titles can be dded to the required minimum 4 point title for each qualifying progeny.
No more than two progeny with a minimum combination of 3 and 2 point titles (on the same dog). Additional 3, 2, and 1 point titles can be added to the required minimum combination for each qualifying progeny.

Outstanding Dam
To be awarded the Outstanding Dam designation, a dam must have Two Field Champion progeny (FC or AFC) - OR - One Field Champion progeny (FC or AFC) and a second progeny who is a CH or UD or AX or AXJ - OR - A minimum of three qualifying progeny who have earned a total of at least 15 title points as follows:

A minimum of two progeny with a 4 point or higher title. Additional 3, 2, and 1 point titles can be added to the required minimum 4 point title for each qualifying progeny.
No more than two progeny with a minimum combination of 3 and 2 point titles (on the same dog). Additional 3, 2, and 1 point titles can be added to the required minimum combination for each qualifying progeny.

Points may be added across from column to column, but not up and down within a column. Points are not cumulative. Only the highest title earned within a category is recognized.

GRCA Show Dog of Hall of Fame
Any Golden Retriever who earns 25 or more points based on the following schedule will be entered in the GRCA Show Dog Hall of Fame.

Best in Show (plus 5 pts. for Group 1st)	10

GRCA Field Dog of Hall of Fame
Any Golden Retriever that accumulates a total of 25 or more points based on his or her performance in Licensed Field Trials will automatically be honored in the GRCA Field Dog Hall of Fame. Any Golden Retriever that wins the National Field Trial or National Amateur Field Trial will also be included.

GRCA Obedience Dog of Hall of Fame
Any Golden Retriever with a Utility Dog title that has accumulated five (5) Highest Scoring Dogs in Trial, of which no more than two have come from Novice class, will be entered into the GRCA Obedience Dog Hall of Fame.

GRCA Versatility Certificate (VC) and Versatility Excellent Certificate (VCX)
Versatility Certificates and Versatility Excellent Certificates are awarded only when applied for and accompanied by supporting documentation (see VC/VCX Application). Versatility points are awarded for the highest achievement in each category. The dog must have at least 1 point in each area: Conformation, Performance, and Field. In addition, a total of 6 points from all areas is required for a Versatility Certificate (VC) or a total of 10 points from all areas is required for a Versatility Excellent Certificate (VCX). Points are not cumulative within a category. Only the highest point title is recognized.
