Baby II is the result of watching two wonderful litters of pups mature and compete and knowing that I had to have another Maze/Cappy girl in my household.  Her dam, Maze, is not only beautiful, but she has brains and disposition too.   I have bred my dogs for personality and health first, followed closely with hunting and athletic ability.  This family is a combination of all those traits.  They are hard driving hunting dogs and couch potatoes in the house.

Maze was mated three times to Counterpoints Captain MH WCX CGC, which resulted in some very energetic, willing to please, great marking pups.  Int.CH HR Sunshine on Golden Pond CD SH RN WC CGC “Decoy” earned his first leg towards his JH Title at the age of 6 months in August 2001. Litter mate, Sunshine South End Logan MX MXJ CGC, continues to do an outstanding job in Agility, his latest accomplishment was being nominated to the Master Agility Trial 2005, in Pensacola, Florida. September 2005 Logan was 14th placed Golden Retriever in the National Agility records.

Because I loved how this mating turned out, I rebred Maze to Cappy to get a pup of this breeding for myself, the result being Sunshine Shuga Baby, “Shuga”.  She is a delight.  She catches on really fast, marks are amazing and her disposition is a pleasure to work with.  As of September 2005, she has earned 2 JR, 3 Sr, and 1 Master Qualification.  Shuga’s litter mate, owned by Scott and Kim Katzenmeyer, Sunshine Chief of Police SH, only needs one more qualification for his Master Title.

The third mating of Maze/Cappy resulted in daughter “Baby II” Sunshine Back to the Future JH. She earned her Junior Title at two Hunt Tests.  NFHRA August 2004, she earned her first two and then we moved to Evansville and the setting up a new kennel had kept us busy throughout the next summer.  With only a limited work out the day before the test at Blackhawk Retriever Club, Sept 2005, she did an outstanding job and earned her last two ribbons in the two-day test.

Hello Susan & Steve –
Ivy is doing great. She has become an inseparable part of our family. FYI – she weight 56# now. She is with us where ever we go. She has been in school a lot over the last year or so and has learned her lessons well.

This last summer we took her to weekly private lessons at Topps Dog Training in Grayslake, IL. They do a great job and are responsible for K9 training for all of the police departments in this area (also the military). In addition, they do companion and therapy dogs.

In August, Ivy passed her CGC and TDI testing. She really made us proud. We will continue to go there this fall and we will work more on obedience and she likes the obstacle courses.

We saw that Baby II had more pups. They also look great. We are hoping to maybe get up to your area sometime this fall. I think that it would be nice for Ivy to see her mom and show her what a good girl she had.

HR Sunshine Golden Princes II earns her HUNTING RETRIEVER title in consecutive passes at Kankakee – two passes in seasoned and then went to Bong Recreational for the Wisill Badger test where she finshed the passes for her title.
