Four and a half years ago I learned of Apollo.  A very good friend of mine had seen Pat and Apollo in Obedience competition and said that they had never seen a handler and a dog so in sync with each other and that they flowed like music around the ring.  After trying to find all the info I could about him, I contacted a breeder in Pennsylvania that was supposed to have an Apollo litter out of her MH female, she had problems with fertility and there was no pups. So, I contacted Pat and she said she thought my Token and Fancy girls would mate really well with Apollo, so Token II had two breedings with him and Lucee(a Fancy) had one.  The puppies turned out fantastic and I have three daughters of Apollo: Salsa, Token II and Skye.

The Jonses don't have children, but state Apollo is very good around neighbor's and friends' children.   He has always been good around other dogs.  He has what Pat Jones would consider to be the true desirable Golden temperament and has been a very confident dog from puppyhood. He has lots of drive and energy in the field but chills out when in the house.  He loves to learn and to be trained and is good at problem solving.

Apollo's titles show he has accomplished the highest level of Hunt test (MH) a title which requires marking triples, handling to birds he hasn't seen, steadiness, and of course, liking birds.  He has shown advanced ability on both land and water.  The Apollo females we have kept have many of Apollo's traits---nose, trainability, birds, and a great personality.  He also has his TDX which is the advanced tracking title.  That requires an excellent nose and endurance. Apollo is the third generation to obtain a TDX and OTCH which indicate great trainability and desire to please.

Apollo responds very well to positive reinforcement and has shown that he also is able to withstand the rigors of field training and can take corrections well.  Apollo is 22 ½ inches at the withers, weighs 62 lbs, is well muscled and quite agile.  He is currently mentoring 9 year old Christina Lewandowski in the Preferred Agility arena.  They are having a great time and just completed their NJP and NAP titles with placements for each leg. (3 1st, 2 2nd, 1 3rd)
