Rock County Junior Fair, Janesville, Wisconsin is the oldest County Fair in the USA, it is also one of the biggest. It has always been a source of pride for me because that is where I spent many of my days during the first week of August as I grew up and competed there with other kids from my county. At the time, I was not in the dog project, but was showing Holstein cattle and Yorkshire Hogs and did very well with those along with my brothers and sisters. My parents inspired us to do well in those projects and made sure we had the best of livestock to be exhibited, many of them home bred and raised. Both of my parents having passed away in this past year, it is especially wonderful for me to have two kids who were so special to my parents excelling in their 4-H projects with Sunshine Goldens. Morgan is Steve’s and my Great niece and A.J. is the son of very special friends of my Mom. As we watched these two kids and their Sunshine Goldens.....We Were Proud.

September, 2004 we made a big move back to my hometown of Evansville, WI, where most of my numerous family members live. Steve had a job relocation to Madison, so it just made sense to move to Evansville, which is 20 miles south of where he was working.
It was hard to leave all the friends of NFHRA and Land of Lakes HRC, but we felt it was a move that would work out for us. Prior to leaving, we were presented with the above award, which we are extremely grateful for. I have won numerous awards in the livestock industry and with my Goldens, but this award is the closest to our hearts.. Thank you Joe and NFHRA family.
